    My knuckles turned white as I gripped the hospital bed rail. Tears streamed down my face while my best friend and a nurse held my legs apart. Another nurse carefully inserted gauze to try and stop the bleeding.<\/p>\n

    Everyone says you\u2019ll always remember your first time having sex, but I never imagined it would be because of something so painful and traumatic. I had pictured awkwardness or nervousness, not a blood-stained bed, carpet, bathtub, and multiple hospital rooms.<\/p>\n

    That night changed everything for me. It wasn\u2019t just the physical pain, but the shock and fear that followed. I felt lost, vulnerable, and unprepared for what happened. Looking back, I realize how much I didn\u2019t know \u2014 and how much better sex education could have made a difference.<\/p>\n

    I\u2019m sharing my story not to scare, but to warn. Too many young people are left in the dark, missing vital information about consent, anatomy, and safety. We need honest, thorough education that prepares everyone for their first time \u2014 so they don\u2019t end up in pain, confusion, or worse.<\/p>\n

    My hope is that by speaking out, I can help prevent others from going through what I did. First experiences should never come with fear and trauma. They should be informed, safe, and respectful.
