    A Cracker Barrel restaurant in East Windsor, Connecticut, faced backlash after a customer spotted decorations resembling nooses hanging from the ceiling. Twitter user Alfonso Robinson posted photos with the caption, \u201cSomeone at Cracker Barrel in East Windsor need to explain why there are nooses on the ceiling,\u201d sparking widespread concern.<\/p>\n

    Cracker Barrel quickly responded, explaining that the \u201cnooses\u201d were actually wrapped cords attached to antique soldering irons on display. The company acknowledged that it was \u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d that employees did not notice how the cords resembled nooses before displaying them. The decorations have since been removed.<\/p>\n

    The noose-like cord had reportedly been part of the restaurant\u2019s d\u00e9cor for 22 years without anyone raising concerns until recently. Activists visited the restaurant and had a \u201cpositive\u201d and \u201cconstructive\u201d conversation with manager Mark Smith. Keren Prescott, founder of PowerUp-Manchester, appreciated Smith\u2019s openness, noting his comment, \u201cYou might notice things that I don\u2019t,\u201d recognizing different perspectives on sensitive issues.<\/p>\n

    Many Twitter users called on Cracker Barrel to review the d\u00e9cor across all its locations and provide a timeline for such a review.<\/p>\n

    In a statement to Fox News, Cracker Barrel emphasized its commitment to creating a \u201cwelcoming, respectful and inclusive\u201d environment.
