The pressure couldn\u2019t have been much higher when\u00a016-year-old Olivia Garcia<\/strong>\u00a0walked onto\u00a0The X Factor UK<\/em>\u00a0stage for the dreaded Six Chair Challenge in 2016. She was the\u00a0last girl to perform<\/strong>, and every one of Simon Cowell\u2019s six chairs was already occupied. To continue in the competition, Olivia wouldn\u2019t simply have to impress Simon\u2014she would have to convince him to send another singer home.<\/p>\n

Olivia was visibly overwhelmed by the situation. Her voice cracked as she spoke before the performance, and Simon even pointed out to the other judges just how nervous she looked. But everything changed once the\u00a0\u00a0music<\/span><\/a>\u00a0started.<\/p>\n

Performing\u00a0\u201cChanging\u201d by Sigma featuring Paloma Faith<\/strong>, Olivia quickly pushed through her nerves and delivered a powerful vocal performance. The audience erupted, and the judges\u2019 reactions showed just how dramatically the teenager had transformed once she began singing.<\/p>\n

Simon was left with the decision he had been dreading: all his chairs were occupied, but Olivia had done enough to deserve one. He ultimately gave her a seat, meaning another contestant had to leave.<\/p>\n
